Merchant of Venice

How is life different for Venetians living in Venice (Antonio & Lorenzo) than it is for those living outside of the city proper (Portia & Nerissa) and those living in the Jewish ghetto (Shylock & Jessica)?

It's about their living conditions

There are different social and economic hierarchies much like there are now. Portia was of course rich; Antonio & Lorenzo would be merchant class. They are not filthy rich but have money as long as their businesses are running. Shylock has money but is a miser and is relegated to the Jewish Ghetto, which was not an upscale neighbourhood.

Thanks
