The King has been murdered so the Elizabethan universe has been put asunder. Much of this play uses the concept of equivocation or the precarious balance between good and bad. The old man hopes that the chaos will soon end and restore the balance of life.

God’s benison go with you and with those That would make good of bad and friends of foes.
