Why do the boys enjoy retelling the story of killing the pig? Do you think their feelings are shared by most people who enjoy hunting and fishing today?

The boys re-live their hunting as sort of a tribal experience. It isn't so much the meat they want as the experience of taking another life, imposing their will on another living creature. No, responsible hunters are not in it for the blood lust. They don't smear animal blood over themselves and re-play the hunt through pantomime.
