why did the author give the book the name lord of the flies?

please help me with my essay it has to be 6-8 sentences long

This is a Biblical reference to Beelzebub, also known as the Lord of the Flies." The "pig" becomes Baal....... lord of his followers, who are the flies. This is a representation of the evil that enters the boys, and what seems like their subsequent possession when they lose all sense of civilization.
