What's the reason behind Simon's and Piggy's absence of their bodies?

I think they are taken away to symbolize the boy's treatment of them. The boys, Jack and his tribe, do not deserve Simon and Piggy were and what they represented. The elements take them away as if God, or what one may conceive God to be, is taking them away from fallen man.
