How does Ralph soften the news that they may be stuck on the deserted island for a long time?

Ralph adds that his father is a naval captain and has access to the Queen's room full of maps. He says that his father will find their island on one of these maps. Although Ralph's father might be a naval captain, the rest of the story holds little substance. Of course the boys still find this news comforting. He also says they are going to have fun on this island because it is a "good island."
