How does Laurie's plan for the future differ from Mr. Lawrence's plans for Laurie?

Laurie wishes to be a famous musician in Germany. He is afraid, however, that his grandfather will force him to go into business, despite his wishes, and says he would run away if there were anyone else to stay with grandfather.
