There are "omens" of Caesar’s impending doom throughout the play. The audience is never quite sure if these are warnings for Caesar to watch his back or suggest that Caesar’s doom is his fate. Each nightmare that the audience discovers can be considered an omen. Does Caesar take heed of these "warnings"? Can he change his destiny? In the end the play becomes a sort of cautionary tale about heeding the details in life that may define one’s destiny.
