“’We give all we have, lives, property, safety, skills . . . we fight, we die, for a simple thing. Only that a man can stand up.’”

This basically means that the Sons of Liberty were prepared to give up their lives, so that those who remained would be able to stand up like real men and enjoy their God given rights. They wanted to stand up in freedom to reach the goals that they aspired to.
