Johnny Tremain

Explain this from the book: Nothing more than a few feet by a few feet at the foot of Boston Common. That much Yankee land he’d hold to Judgment Day. From chapters 9-10

I believe this takes place in Ch. 9. Johnny witnesses Pumpkin's execution. He was accused of desertion. Johnny does not see the execution but he can feel it happening. Pumpkin would not get his farm but he would get,  a few feet by a few feet at the foot of Boston Common. That much Yankee land he'd hold to Judgment Day.
