What connections can you make between the personalities of Chris and the protagonist of Jack London’s “To Build a Fire”? Can you please use examples from both works?

Both characters underestimate their environments. The man in To Build a Fire underestimates the cold weather and what nature can do when man does not respect the elements. Similarly Chris goes into the wilds of Alaska underestimating what it will be like. Chris is unprepared for the elements. Many native Alaskans criticized Chris for not respecting the elements.
