What is the significance of the way the team gets treated in the café of the town called Chapleau? Why is this specific treatment considered to be so much worse than a mere beating for the team?

The men at the cafe beat each team member up and then urinated on them. The urination was an unspeakable humiliation that none of the team members could ever talk about. A beating is temporary. The emotional trauma from being pissed on never goes away.
