The atmosphere or mood of this section of chapters (11/12) is different than the previous chapters.

The atmosphere is different because it is the first time Saul enters the missionary school called St. Jerome’s Indian Residential School. It is a time of discovery for Saul but he quickly sees the school exists to strip his identity away.
