Marlow is more complex that your average sea storyteller. The truth isn't easily taken out like a nut in a shell. The truth was actually the shell itself, the truth lay in the narration itself. This is the same for Africa and the Congo. The place is shrouded in contradictions and paradox. Hope that makes sense.
