Hamlet

Explain the reasons Hamlet gives for not killing the king at prayer. What other reason do you think he may have for putting of the deed he was eager to carry out minutes before?

• Hamlet wants Claudius to suffer

• Hamlet is worried that if he kills Claudius at prayer, God may forgive his sins and take him to Heaven.

• Hamlet may put off killing Claudius because doesn't have the ability to kill in cold blood..... he simply doesn't have the gumption.
