Frankenstein

What is another theme (besides Promethean ambition and consequences of irresponsibility in the pursuit of knowledge) and some events or behaviors that support this theme?

???

Consider forbidden knowledge to be a major theme. Not all knowledge is put to good use. Like Goethe's Faustus, Victor uses his knowledge for things best not dabbled in. Victor's creation results in the death of everyone near to him. It also leads to the torturous life of Victor's creation itself. Consider the death of not only members of Victor's immediate family, including his beloved friend Henry, but the creature's futile and agonizing attempts to find a shred of acceptance among the human population.
