Frankenstein

Why do you think it is so important for the author to establish the creature's dependence on Victor as evidenced by his visit to his creator's bedside?

The creature's appearance at Victor's bedside and the way it reaches out to him is like a child reaching out to its parent. In essence, Victor is its parent. From the description, we as readers come to understand the desertion and abandonment for what it is.
