Firefight is a young adult fantasy fiction novel by Brandon Sanderson. It was first published in 2015 by Random House in the United States. The novel is the second book in Sanderson's The Reckoners series and is the sequel to Steelheart and the prequel to Calamity.
The series is set in a post-apocalyptic future on Earth in which random individuals, known as Epics, have been endowed with superpowers rendering them superior to other and leading to the collapse of traditional societies. The novels in the series follow the adventures of a teenage Chicago native David Charleston in his adventures to rebel against the tyranny of the Epics.
This novel was released to generally positive reviews, with Common Sense Media praised it for providing a "new, wetter setting for the superhero action and delivering a couple of monumental twists that kick the plot into high gear at the climax."
