What is the JACL? Why do the people want to form an all-Nisei combat regiment?3

The JACL was the The Japanese American Citizens League. The JACL passed a resolution pledging Japanese men to volunteer out of the camps for military training to fight in the American war effort. An all-Nisei combat regiment would give the men a sense of pride and identity. They wanted to look like patriotic Americans. I can't fully comment on their historical legacy.
