Fahrenheit 451

What is the center of Millie's life? What's her greatest desire? What's the author saying about the media through her?

Somewhere at the first part of the book?

THe centre of Mildred's life is the parlour walls where she loses herself in vapid superficial stories and characters. Mildred also has her drugs to keep her sedated , away from any meaningful emotions. The media actually becomes the message here. The media shapes people into consumers of product and ideology. Critical thinking "outside the box" is systematically destroyed.
