Fahrenheit 451

Review the conversation on page 49-51. How does Mildred respond when Montag tells her they burnt an old woman? What does this tell us about Montag's character?

Mildred is busy with the parlour and she complains about the karosene smell on her carpet. Β She is trying to get the TV/parlour working and is disinterested in the horror of the burning of the lady. Montag feels ill about what happened. His character is certainly changing while his wife remains the same.Β
