At this point, I don't think Mildred is capable of gauging what happiness is. She is lost in her vacuous world of TV walls, sleeping pills, and superficial friendships. Montag has met Clarisse and he is enlightened. Clarisse was Montag's re-awakening. She asked him to consider if he was happy and Montag knew that he was deeply miserable. I really don't think that Mildred is self-aware enough to know how she really feels.
