Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage is a non-fiction biographical account written by Alfred Lansing. The book mainly chronicles the journey of Sir Ernest Shackleton as his led the other 28 members of the shipwrecked Endurance on a crossing of Antarctica on foot in 1914. The novel was first published in 1959 by Hodder and Stoughton.
The book provides a largely factual look at the experiences of the members in the expedition. Lansing interviewed the surviving members of the team extensively and cross referenced all of the personal diaries that were kept by the team members.
Lansing's text was nominated for the National Book Award for Nonfiction when it was first published, but it did not win.
