Explain Hyde's words to Lanyon before drinking the potion: "Remember your vows. What follows is under the seal of our profession."

Like Jekyll, Lanyon is a doctor and doctors offer their clients a certain amount of confidentiality based on their profession.  Jekyll expects Lanyon to keep what is going to happen a secret.
