Death of a Salesman

Success is unobtainable for all. To what extent does the view provided apply more to Marlene in ‘Top Girls’ than to Willy in ‘Death Of A Salesman’?

focus on american dream and how characters feel about success and wether they have achieved it and also include historical context

For willy he believes that if you are well liked and are popular then you are successful. He believes that if his sons are popular, then they will be successful. However that is not the case. Both sons are considered a failure. Willie, who is liked, but is a poor excuse of a salesman and cannot compete with the younger ones in his field.
