Cyrano de Bergerac

How would you describe Roxannes attitude towards de Guiche? How does Rostand(the author) communicate Roxannes true feelings to the audience without making them clear to de Guiche?

Roxanne’s attitude towards de Guiche is usually a controlling game of wit. She thinks he is simple minded and tries to manipulate him whenever she can. She, for example, easily manipulates de Guiche into keeping Cyreno and Christian back from fighting in order to keep them safe. Guiche thinks keeping them back is a clever joke but readers realize he has been had by Roxanne.
