At several points in the story, the narrators wife loses patience with him. What causes her displeasure? What do her reactions reveal about the wife? about the narrator?

The narrators wife isn't experiencing what she once did with the blind man. Her husband is drawing him away with intoxicants. This is somehow ruining the connection she was trying to re-capture. I'm not sure we can all together blame her. The narrator is distracting if not a little dominating.
