What is the law of Club and Fang? What does it represent? How is Buck introduced to it?

This is what Buck discovers in the wilds of the North. THe club of man and the fang of other dogs is what rules his fate. Buck must learn to navigate this harsh world. At the same time Buck rises to the challenge because he is one tough dog; he was meant to be there.
