can anyone explain Krisna as Atma, Shiva and Rishi as well as the Thousand Suns

THis is pretty difficult to get at in this short space. I'm not a Hindu scholar either. AS I understood it the Atma is a transcendental consciousness. A different state of being, kind of like an avatar. All the Gods had them. Even we are supposed to have them. Of course the ideas go far beyond this but that's my take on it.
