Beloved

What does Paul D's designation of Beloved as "reminding me of something.....something, look like, I'm supposed to remeber" suggest about her symbolic role in the novel? (part 2 chp 6&7)

for anyone to answer

Beloved brings out Paul D's visions of his past. This is symbolic because the novel attempts reconcile past painful experiences with the present with Beloved as a sort of conduit.
