Morrison ends chapter 11 wih Beloved's seduction of Paul D, and his screams of "red heart". how is this phrase symbolic of Paul D's present eomtional state? (prt1: chp9-11)

Paul D shuts the past away in his imagined "tobacco tin" buried in his chest where a red heart used to be. His infidelity with Beloved opens up that painful past. It breaks the seal which allow he and Seth to carry on. That is why he shouts out red heart.
