Simile- the world beats dead

like a slackened drum

THe wold seems dead to her, like beating on a loose drum skin.

Personification/ metaphor

"the lamps of the city prick my eyes"

This separation is painful

" i leave you

to wound myself against the sharp edges

of the night?"

Again metaphor/personification. She is feeling the painful edges of the night as she eperates further from her love.
