Why does Squealer lie to the animals instead of pointing out that they have to trade with humans to survive?

He lies because the original set of commandments prohibited trade between the animals and humans, and the pigs are once again rewriting the commandments at the expense of the other animals and at great gain for themselves. It's a matter of control.
