Why do you think the pigs tolerate Moses' presence on the farm?

Moses the clever talking raven had his uses. His endless talk about “Sugarcandy Mountain” was initially dismissed by the pigs. Napoleon knew, however, that if he could buy the bird off, his rhetoric could come in handy when the animals are worked to exhaustion. This is an allusion to Stalin’s relationship with the Orthodox Church.
