Snowball is a thinker and an academic. He prefers to copy the tactics of famous and successful generals from history. We can see this in Chapter Four when he reads a book of Julius Caesar's campaigns in preparation. Napoleon thinks that Animals should just arm themselves and fight without a strategic plan.
