1. How do the pigs rationalize some ill their selfish acts, and what other ways do they use to make the rest of the animals go along with them?

One example would be when the milk and apples disappear, and the animals find out the pigs have taken it.... the pigs claim they need the food for "brainwork". They follow their announcement with a claim that Jones might come back if they lose their powers of organization.
