The American dream was/is all about financial success, family, and independence The Keller family has achieved financial stability which is a glimpse of the American dream. The family, however, has paid a heavy price for this success. Much of this "dream" involves greed and greed is what prompted father Keller to send faulty plane parts in the first place. This play really makes one question if the "American dream" has anything to do with what people actually dream of. Despite the Keller family's financial successes, they lack stability, peace and happiness.
