Basically Stanley rapes Blanche here. Both these characters related to each other on a sexual level. Stanley interacts with Blanche the only way how and Stella is simpy stuck.

Hey Aslan. what would you say is the meaning that this action has on the play as a whole?

It tells us that the violent controlling act of rape is in the end the only way Stanley knows how to relate to Stella, it's quite tragic.
