A Long Way Gone

The town Mattru Jong, is that near where Ishmael lives, or is that the place *HE* lives?

I just want to know where Ishmael and Junior lived with their parents before the war began. The town Matrru Jong, (I hope i'm spelling it right LOL!) is it near where Ishmael and Junior live or no?

It is a village nearby. In Ch 1, Ishmael, his friend Talloi and brother Junior visit the village of Mattru Jong to see some old friends and practice their rap group performance for an upcoming talent show.
