The verse could easily apply to Tiny Tim and his special place within the family. Tiny Tim's ailments insure that he will not likely live much longer... and yet he is accepted and loved, just as Jesus welcomed the children. The Crachit's were able to live with what they believed would come because Tiny Tim would assuredly leave their sides to be with the Lord.
