A Christmas Carol

If Scrooge is older than his sister, Fan, and his mother died giving birth to Scrooge, how is that possible?

It can't be possible for Scrooge to be older than his siter if his mother died giving birth to Scrooge. Can it be, though?

The movie and the book are different. In the book, Scrooge is the older child, and Fan is younger than he is. It is only in the movie that Fan is older and Scrooge's birth is noted to be the reason for his mother's death.
