This woman represents beauty. Julia is confused because the Prole lady is old and thick bodied. He explains to Julia she has lived a life. She beautiful once but she married and had children: now she is taking care of her grandchildren. She is old and tired but she is still singing. Winston thinks that this is beautiful.
