Explain the Partition Plan of the United Nations. Why is Reuven glad he restrains the anger he feels toward the anti-Zionist Hasidic students after this plan is adopted by the United Nations?

In 1947, the United Nations approved a plan to divide Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab. The plan also included the separation of Jerusalem from each state, leaving it under international control. Reuven was glad he'd controlled his anger at the anti-Zionist students at his school because of their reaction to the bloodshed that followed the vote. Sadness and disbelief permeated the group as they learned the true meaning behind the protest they'd supported.
