This is an essay question, not a short answer question which is what this forum is designed.  Georgina tries to be independent, but she loves "her man" so much that she gives in and is courageous enough to subject herself to his outrageous experiments.  She is already wonderful inside, but his obsession with physical beauty takes away her courage, her independence, and any attempt she might have made to be self-reliant.
