Wordsworth's poem, To A Butterfly, is about the speaker, who shares his description of a butterfly in the garden and welcomes the butterfly as a reminder of youth. Typical of Romantic writers, Wordsworth's speaker, focuses on his observation and contemplation of the butterfly itself. He paints a picture of the butterfly's environment, as well as the peace within it (the garden). The speaker also addressed the butterfly as if it could understand him..... as if it were human. His words and actions are childlike and innocent....... reminscent of lost youth.
