After winter break, Jack's "so called" friends" completely ignored him. At lunch, they got up and swtiched tables, leaving him alone. In the end, it is Charlotte who tells Jack what's really going on. Over break there was a holiday party, during which, Julian told everyone that Jack suffered from emotional problems, that he was supposed to have been expelled but his parents fixed it with Tushman, and that Jack snapped because he was "forced" to be friends with Auggie.
