Where the Red Fern Grows

where the red fern grows book

Older people in our lives, such as parents and grandparents, can be a wealth of wisdom. They can offer words of wisdom because of their life's lessons. We can learn valuable lessons from their experiences. Billy's father gives him words of advice throughout the novel. One of the lessons was, "There's more to an education than just reading and writing." What did he mean by this statement? Do you agree or disagree? Use the RACE strategy to answer the question completely.

I can only briefly comment on this. Billy's father means that traits like discipline, hard work, honesty, fortitude.....are all life lessons that come from a life of experience rather than education.
