WHAT SHOWS MAN VS. SOCIETY

Billy certainly has external conflicts but society as a whole doesn't play a big part. I think if anything Billy's family is poor and is forced to move to a town if Billy wants an education. Other than that, there really isn't anything from the outside world pushing against them.
