How does Billy convince Papa,Grandpa, and the judge to keep going when they want to stop in the sleet storm?

Billy doesn't want to give up the hunt because he's afraid of losing his dogs to the cold. He knows that they won't come back in until they've got the coon.... so, he wants to find his dogs. The others are convinced and stay to help him.
