Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?

Where are you going, Where have you been?

How does music work in the story? Does music seem to affect the way that connie acts and thinks?

There seems to be music throughout the story. It comes from radios, cars, restaurants, and houses. Connie equates music with her burgeoning sexuality and her interest in boys. Arnold uses music to manipulate Connie by using it as a, "simple lilting voice, exactly as if he were reciting the words to a song."
